It is one of history’s greatest ironies. Gentile followers of Jesus — a Jewish rabbi — have all too often treated Jewish people with amazing cruelty. If you’re a non-Jewish follower of Jesus, do not attempt to establish relationships with the Jewish people around you until you have understood history from a Jewish perspective. Indeed, if you want to befriend someone who is Jewish, understanding the centuries-old conflict between Christians and Jews is an excellent first step toward that friendship.
