Trips to Israel

Our June 5-15, 2022 hiking trip is a GO!

Ready for the trip of a lifetime?

After a two-year delay because of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Israel is opening its doors to all travelers, vaccinated or not!

Our June 5-15, 2022 hiking trip has room for a few more travelers. The all-inclusive price of this trip – including airfare from Atlanta – is $4,950. that’s just $100 more than the price we were able to quote in 2019!

Be sure you’re aware of all COVID-19 quarantine risks below before signing up for this trip. While the reward of traveling when so few people are visiting Israel is fantastic, there is a big risk associated with testing positive for the virus while traveling overseas. We’re providing a basic health insurance policy for our travelers, but if you want to be covered for the risk of extra expenses of quarantine in Israel, or for the risk of missing the trip entirely because of a positive PCR test, you’ll want to consider “comprehensive” travel insurance from a site like insuremytrip.com.

Our prices include the flight, lodging, every meal while in Israel, all touring costs, all tips and even bottled water on the bus. We also provide a basic health insurance policy for all of our travelers. All that’s left to buy in Israel would be souvenirs and any expense you might have in an airport. We’re flying United Airlines on this trip. We’ll leave Atlanta (ATL) on UA 786 on June 5 at 6:46 p.m., connect in Newark (EWR) for a 10:55 p.m. flight (UA 090) to Tel Aviv (TLV), landing at 4:20 p.m. on June 6. Coming home, we’ll leave TLV at 11:25 p.m. on June 14 (UA 091), arriving at EWR at 4:10 a.m. on June 15. Our final flight from Newark to Atlanta (UA 312) leaves at 7:59 a.m. and lands at 10:20 a.m.

We’ll see a lot of the land of the Bible with this tour. We’ll start in the heartland of Judea, spend two days alongside the Dead Sea, move to the Sea of Galilee for three days, take a full day to slowly work our way to Jerusalem via the Mediterranean coastline, and finally spend three days in Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

The places you will goIf you’re a Bible person, this is the tour for you. We avoid as many “traditional” locations as possible and focus on sites that provide life-changing insight to the Bible’s most familiar stories. You’ll see a minimum of old churches and a maximum number of places were the people of the Bible actually walked.

Pastor Andy Cook will host the trip, teaching at biblical sites all along the way. As usual, we’ll also have a licensed tour guide and full-time driver as we explore the land together. Typically, our guide will share information about each site and Pastor Andy will lead inspirational times at selected sites each day.

Even though Israel is open, factors related to COVID-19 are going to affect this trip. Restrictions (like wearing masks) in airports and on long flights will probably be in place. You’ll be required to get a PCR test and produce a negative result within three days of the trip before traveling, and be tested again upon arrival in Israel ($27). Those costs are yours. We’ll pay for the final PCR test that comes on June 14 at our hotel.

If, God forbid, any of us were to test positive, a required period of quarantine would follow in a designated hotel. The expense of such a quarantine is not covered in the cost of this trip. That’s why trip insurance is so important.

Again, we’re already including a good health insurance policy that covers any illness or accident you might have. It also would cover an actual diagnosis of COVID-19 while on the trip, and some costs associated to any quarantine delays. Even so, you should seriously consider “trip cancellation” insurance.  Visit insuremytrip.com for a wide variety of trip insurance options.
